A Canvas That Listens and Responds

Sounding Canvas
redefines what a painting can be. Rooted in Persian calligraphy and musical rhythm, each piece becomes both visual and sonic—inviting touch, resonance, and discovery. What may appear as a static composition is, in truth, a living interface. When touched, it sings. The surface responds with evolving sounds—transforming the viewer into an active participant. This project challenges the traditional divide between viewer and artwork. Here, the audience becomes co-creator, and each interaction gives rise to a unique sensory dialogue. But Sounding Canvas is more than an artwork—it’s a space of relation. It embodies the spirit of a social sculpture: a living system shaped by human presence, dialogue, and shared gesture. Each touch activates not only sound, but a form of communication that transcends words—a way to say “I’m here” through vibration, rhythm, and silence.Through real-time audio synthesis, adaptive technology, and tactile perception, Sounding Canvas transforms the act of seeing into an act of listening—of feeling. It becomes a presence that evolves, remembers, and connects.

Echo of Lines

This piece bridges the ephemeral nature of sound with the permanence of visual form. The geometric composition, influenced by Persian calligraphy, transforms into a living, sensory space. Touch ignites its hidden voice—larger white squares and red forms resonate, evolving in time. Like a dialogue between viewer and canvas, each interaction shapes a unique sonic experience, altered by time’s passage. With each touch, harmonics shift, layers build, and the artwork itself seems to breathe, responding and changing, never the same twice.

Script of the Unsaid

This piece translates sound into structured form, drawing inspiration from Persian calligraphy and musical rhythm. The black geometric shapes echo an abstract script—an unspoken language of movement and stillness. Red elements punctuate the composition like sharp notes or silent pauses, while the muted grey background holds a quiet depth. Beneath this visual code lies a hidden soundscape: touch awakens it. Each interaction generates shifting tones and rhythms, turning the viewer into a performer. In this sensory dialogue, presence becomes sound, and silence becomes a canvas for play.

Rhythmic Interference

This artwork explores the interplay of geometry, contrast, and interaction. Using a structured arrangement of black, yellow, and blue-gray forms, it challenges the viewer’s perception of balance and movement. The precise angular composition suggests a coded language or architectural rhythm, inviting deeper engagement. Like my other works, this piece encourages interaction, redefining the traditional boundaries between the viewer and the artwork.

Calligraph of Absence

This piece in development layers sharp, calligraphic geometry with minimalist depth and shadow. Black, white, and blue- gray elements form a cryptic visual syntax, drawing on Persian aesthetics and sonic abstraction. Planned as an interactive Sounding Canvas, it will respond to touch with modulated sound, turning viewers into participants. As with the rest of the series, this work explores perception, language, and sound through tactile dialogue.

Silent Score

Inspired by musical notation and Persian calligraphy, this new work explores rhythm, silence, and spatial tension through a system of floating diamond forms and vertical lines. Its structure echoes the formal elegance of a visual score—waiting  to be performed. Intended as part of the interactive Sounding Canvas series, it will use touch-sensitive sensors and sound design to turn this abstract visual language into a dynamic, multisensory encounter. The piece invites reflection on the space between sound and form, language and gesture.
